About St Mark's CE Primary School
We are a small school situated in the beautiful Cornish countryside. We are near
the rugged Cornish coastline and have a number of different wildlife habitats in our
school grounds.
An aerial view of our location is shown on the From the Air
page.
The local weather can be seen on our Weather page.
About WASP
Our Wild About Science Project (WASP) formally started in May 2009 when we secured
funding from The Royal Society - see below. We kicked off the project by studying the local moths and taking part in the Garden Moth Scheme,
a national survey of the moth species.
The WASP funding meant we were able to buy extra resources for the school including
special scientific equipment.
The Partnership Grant from The Royal Society
We were awarded the Partnership Grant from The Royal Society to help fund the WASP
project. The scheme offers funding "for bringing science alive in schools".
